Kim has been a longtime homebrewer and has had both the privilege and bad fortune to live under the same roof with her husband Mike who tries to impart his wisdom upon her. It’s not that she’s not receptive, it’s that she’s always been smarter than he is. When she’s not making the fine beer you’ll taste in our tap rooms, she’s taking care of her dogs or in her garden, up to her elbows in dirt. She’s terrified of frogs, which is why our No Amphibian policy is strictly enforced. In our brewhouse, she prefers to be addressed as the Beer Queen. As you wish, Your Highness.
Keith Weltens - Co-Owner & Chief Operating Officer
Keith started brewing in his backyard and hatched the crazy idea of Long Way Brewing. Sure, it began as an idea to bring craft beer to the masses by putting a franchise taproom next to every Starbucks, but you’ve got to have goals. Keith will be the first one to tell you that if you point him at the brick wall, he’ll run through it. That’s exactly what Long Way has needed at times, however, we probably should have gotten him a helmet first. If you ever see Keith drinking a macro light lager, gracefully remind him that he has a brewing system in the back room.
Rob & Janet Gropman - Co-Owners
Janet and Rob live next to Keith and wandered into his backyard at the wrong time. Somebody handed Rob a mediocre home brew, and ever since, he’s been the voice of reason during a process where reason has been on backorder. Janet prefers a glass of wine to a cold brew, but she’s learning. At a recent neighborhood beer tasting, she didn’t get sick and actually got a couple of refills. Baby steps. These two love Radford. If you talk American history with Rob, bring your A-game. If you ever wager a pint about the details of a past event, be prepared to settle your tab at your convenience.
